September 2021, the last of the three Tyra East production topsides was lifted in place by the world’s largest crane vessel Heerema´s Sleipnir. Watch the video to experience how the three Tyra II topsides were installed with millimeters of precision.

With the up to 2600 tons heavy topsides hanging 50 meters in the air, the crane operator accurately placed each topside on the so-called guide pins spanning only 1 meter in diameter to prevent damage to the existing jackets and wells.

Total´s Vice President, Head of the Tyra Redevelopment, Morten Hesselager Pedersen said: “Achieving this under the rough conditions in the North Sea is very challenging and therefore only possible using the best of the best, thanks to our outstanding teams onshore and offshore and to our valued partner Heerema Marine Contractors!”

Only two more bridges to go of this year’s summer campaign…
