Tekmar Energy have completed a quick turnaround project in under four weeks for client DeepOcean and their ultimate client Hengtong Group. This impressive achievement was important not only due to the quick turnaround but also due to the volume of over 6.5Km of protection weighing over 6.5t of TEKTHANE® polyurethane (PU) – the durable subsea product on which many of Tekmar Energy’s products are based.

Tekmar were supporting the EDP WindFloat Project off the coast of Portugal, which aims to develop innovative technology to the exploitation of wind potential at sea at depths of more than 40m. Many industry analysts see floating offshore wind as the future of the industry and the next game-changing step in its evolution. This project supported by both Tekmar and DeepOcean shows the companies are leading at the forefront of the industry.

James Ritchie, CEO of Tekmar Group plc, said: “We are proud of this project not only due to the successful completion by Tekmar Energy, but also as it demonstrates the world leading capabilities in the region, and as Chairman of EnergiCoast I am keen to shout about the expertise in the North East of England”.

On working together on the project DeepOcean, said: “We have always had a very good relationship with Tekmar and enjoy working togethe. Having this cluster of expertise in the North East aids our ability to react and tackle the future industry challenges together.”
