Total started the removal of the subsided topsides at Tyra East and West to make space for the new state-of-the-art facilities.

They are now a few days into the Tyra Redevelopment Wellhead and Riser Platform Removal Campaign and 3 out of the 20 planned lifts have been completed safely including the 3800 tons Tyra West ‘bridge module’.

During the next three months Total will remove steel equivalent to seven Eiffel Towers using two of the biggest and most fascinating vessels in the world, Heerema’s Sleipnir and Allseas’ Pioneering Spirit.

Morten Hesselager Pedersen, Vice President, Head of the Tyra Redevelopment at Total, said: “Thanks to the teams for getting us here, now let’s do this together. Safely”

As you will see in this video, precision and horsepower are key.
