Tekmar Energy continue their expansion into the Asia offshore wind market with a substantial award in Taiwan from repeat client Seaway 7 for wpd’s 640MW Yunlin project.

The project is scheduled to be fully operational by the end of 2021, using 80 x 8MWSiemens Gamesa turbines. Tekmar Energy will be supplying 150 of their patented Tekmar Cable Protection Systems (CPS) which protect the subsea power cables as they transition from the offshore structures into burial.

Russell Edmondson, Managing Director of Tekmar Energy said: “The contract award on the Yunlin project continues our relationship with Seaway 7 following successful completion on the Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm in Scotland and our recent award on the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind Farm.”

The contract is one of Tekmar’s largest non-EU projects to date.
