After Asia Pacific’s largest 10MW offshore wind turbine, jointly developed by Dongfang Electric Corporation (DEC) and China Three Gorges Corporation, was connected to grid, another good news came from the field of onshore wind power.

DEC‘s first independently developed 4.5MW permanent magnetic direct drive onshore wind turbine has recently been connected to grid. It is currently China’s largest onshore wind turbine in terms of unit capacity.

With an impeller diameter of 155 meters, the newly-developed unit is specific to onshore areas with medium & high wind speed. It follows a technical route of platform-based design and permanent magnetic direct drive + full power conversion, and features high reliability, high efficiency and low operation & maintenance cost.
