Rostock-based company EEW Special Pipe Constructions GmbH has received an order from the Swedish energy group Vattenfall to produce 41 monopiles for the 344 MW offshore wind farms Vesterhav.

Between April 2022 and August 2022, EEW SPC will process a total of around 25,500 tons of steel for the order.

“We are delighted that, following on from the order for the Kriegers Flak project, we can now also produce the monopiles for the Vesterhav project. Even if the COVID numbers are currently rising sharply, we have managed to bring the contract negotiations to a successful conclusion through having online meetings. We would like to thank Vattenfall for the trust that they have placed in us and we look forward to working with them in a mutually good cooperation here too”, says Heiko Mützelburg, CEO of EEW SPC.

The two wind farms are located off the coast of Denmark in the North Sea. Completion is planned for the end of 2023. After commissioning, Vesterhav project will supply up to 380,000 Danish households with environmentally friendly electricity each year.
