Vestas North & Central Europe has awarded Global Wind Service (GWS) with the installation contract for the onshore wind project Högaliden in Sweden.

Högaliden wind farm is located 2 km north of the village Botsmark in the region of Umeå. The wind farm consists of 25 x V150-4.2MW MK3E with a 125-meter hub height. The pre-installation work on site is expected to commence early August 2020.

The wind farm is owned by the Norwegian Fred. Olsen Renewables – a company related to Fred. Olsen Ocean which has 75.5% share of Global Wind Service.

“We are very pleased that Vestas has chosen Global Wind Service with this Swedish project, thereby continuing our good partnership. We have been working with Vestas since the very beginning in 2008 where they were one of our first clients – something we are very proud of. The fact that it is a Fred. Olsen Renewables project is just another great factor, as we will be able to deliver our usual high quality to a related company” Said Lars Petersen, Chief Commercial Officer at Global Wind Service.

“In Global Wind Service, we found an experienced partner with the right values. We have worked with them for many years and trust that they will meet our expectations also on this project” said Paúl Otamendi, Global Procurement, Vestas North & Central Europe.
