In Turkey, Mammoet‘s team are disassembling a 822t drill tower off the ultradeep water drillship Fatih, which is en route to start exploration operations in the Black Sea.

To enable it to pass the Bosporus strait with its three suspension bridges, Mammoet was tasked to remove the drill tower off the ship before the Bosporus and install it back once the ship crossed the strait.

Their solution: use two cranes at both locations for a quicker disassembly/assembly and a sooner start of the ship’s drilling operations.
