New North America Offshore Wind Map Released

La Tene Maps has released a new edition of its offshore wind maps. For the quickly evolving US offshore wind market this is a very welcome update. The past couple of years have seen increasing state commitments to offshore wind, additional lease sales and the award of multiple projects now totaling over 9,000 MW. In 2020 multiple further lease sales and project tenders are expected.

Given this increasing pipeline of projects scheduled for 2022 / 2023 onwards and the Jones Act requiring US flag vessels to be used for the transport of offshore wind turbine components the need for dedicated transport & installation solutions is evident and increasingly pressing. Over the past years, in parallel with these developments, GustoMSC has been and remains committed to supporting clients in bringing robust and efficient units to this new market. With its unmatched track-record in the design and associated equipment for wind turbine installation jack-ups and its US presence in Houston, TX, GustoMSC is well equipped to support these projects.

Recently GustoMSC signed the Partners for International Business (PIB) agreement supported by the Dutch government to advance the offshore wind industry in the United States of America. The goal of the PIB group is to establish the Netherlands as a strategic trade and knowledge partner for the American market. By exchanging knowledge, the group wants to generate more Dutch export orders and thus extra revenue from the USA.
