Yamal LNG Production Exceeding Expectations

Novatek said that, since the beginning of 2019, the LNG plant produced more than 16.5 million tons of LNG.

The Project supersedes its annual nameplate production capacity during the first eleven months of the year, when all three LNG trains were in operation, as the third LNG train was launched at the end of 2018.

Yamal LNG consists of a 16.5 mtpa natural gas liquefaction plant comprised of three LNG trains of 5.5 mtpa each and Novatek is building fourth LNG train with a capacity of 900 thousand tons per annum, utilizing the hydrocarbon resources of the South-Tambeyskoye field in The Russian Arctic.

The first LNG Train began production in Q4 2017 and Trains 2 and 3 — in July 2018 and November 2018, respectively.

Yamal LNG shareholders include PAO NOVATEK (50.1%), Total (20%), CNPC (20%), and the Silk Road Fund (9.9%).

In July, Novatek reports 31.8 million boe increase in hydrocarbons for the 1st half of 2019 as compared to the corresponding period in 2018.
