The General Manager of PETROPERÚ, Carlos Barrientos Gonzales, made a work visit to Ilo, where he inspected the progress in the construction of the new Fuel Sales Plant, met with Mayor Gerardo Carpio and participated in the Christmas activity organized by the Company for the children of this Moqueguano port.

During the tour, the senior official verified the situation of the facilities and confirmed the prompt revival of construction work, scheduled for the second quarter of next year. The project has an advance of 40.91% and once again the state oil company maintains its commitment to the Ilo population for the hiring of local labor – through contractors – when the works are resumed.

When the work is finished, the new plant will be able to store around 180 thousand barrels of diesel and dispatch diesel B5, diesel 2E, gasohol 84, gasohol 90 and gasohol 95. It will have a capacity of 293 thousand barrels of fuels and will have 17 tanks, which will be installed in two stages. This will allow to satisfactorily meet the current and projected demand for liquid fuels destined for the Moquegua and Tacna regions, with a projection to meet the demand of the Puno and Madre de Dios regions.
